Scroll the table sideways for every column.

Checked against each firm's own documentation on ; check yours against your firm's current rules. A soft daily loss limit pauses the day and the account stays open; a hard one fails the evaluation. Approx. marks presets held as approximate. A dash means no verified value, so nothing is guessed.

PassTraq is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of any prop firm, CME Group or Rithmic, except where a link is marked as a partner link.

What gets tracked

Five rules, tracked for your firm and your account size

A challenge ends on a rule, not on a number in a spreadsheet. Add your account and PassTraq loads the rulebook for your firm, plan and size, then measures each rule against your balance and your trades.

  1. Add the account. Pick the firm, the plan and the size. Starter tracks one account, Trader five, Pro and Quant unlimited.
  2. Bring your trades. Sync from Apex Trader Funding and AMP Futures, import a CSV from six platforms, or log them by hand in the trading journal.
  3. Watch the room. The rules dashboard on Starter; the Rules HUD, Guardian and alerts on Trader and up.

Daily loss limit

What you may lose in a trading day, on the day's P&L after commissions, open P&L included. The day rolls at 17:00 CT. 7 of the 23 default plans set one: 6 soft, 1 hard.

Trailing drawdown

A floor below your highest balance, trailing intraday or at the day's end, or static. Open P&L counts, so an open loser can breach. 13 default plans lock the floor at breakeven.

Profit target

The gain you need over the starting balance, shown as what is left to go. A target is a goal, not a limit, so nothing locks on it.

Consistency rule

No single day may be too large a share of your profit. 11 default plans set one. Going over raises the target or delays the payout where the firm says, so PassTraq never counts it as a breach.

Minimum days

The days you must trade before a pass or a payout. 11 default plans set a minimum. Plan the days in the Days to Pass Planner.

Any other firm

Add it as a custom firm: type the target, daily loss and max drawdown as a percentage of the account, and say whether the drawdown trails.

Prop firm drawdown

Static, end of day or intraday: the three drawdown models

The model decides when the floor moves. Across the 67 plans PassTraq models for these 23 firms, 52 trail at the end of the day, 7 trail intraday and 8 are static.

Intraday trailingThe floor follows your equity high during the day, open profit included, and never moves down.
Day 1 closePeak $51,400

The day 2 pullback to $49,300 lands below the floor.

7 of the 67 plans PassTraq models

End-of-day trailingThe floor moves once a day, at the firm’s close, off your closing balance.
Day 1 close

The same pullback stays $400 above the floor.

52 of the 67 plans PassTraq models

StaticThe floor sits at the starting balance minus the drawdown, and never moves.
Day 1 close

The same pullback stays $1,300 above the floor.

Broker truth

Where the numbers come from

Your broker's numbers. With your account connected on a paid plan, balance and drawdown come straight from your broker, labelled with where and when they came from. Anything worked out from your trades says so.

On Trader and up, PassTraq keeps your Rithmic login connected, so balance, open P&L and the drawdown floor, Rithmic's own liquidation floor, come straight from the broker. Logins from 14 more prop firms connect in beta.

Without a connection, the numbers are worked out from the trades you import or log. A firm's max contracts and its flatten-by time have no data source yet, so their cards say so instead of guessing.

Rules HUD

The Rules HUD: a word at 50, 70 and 90 percent

The Rules HUD shows the room you have left on every screen, with a word at each level: CAUTION at 50%, DANGER at 70%, STOP at 90%.

On a wide screen it sits in the app bar beside your account, on every page and over the workbench, where drawdown left also reads in ticks at your size. The status word takes the worst rule, or reads LOCKED or BREACHED. Click an item for its rule card: the rule, how it is computed, what is left and what breaks it.

The dashboard shows the same cards on Starter, and its alerts keep the ramp: “consider stopping” at 70% of the daily loss limit, “stop trading today” at 90%.

Guardian

Guardian: your own limits, stricter than the firm's

Guardian lets you set your own limits, stricter than the firm's. It refuses an order that would break them, and never blocks an exit, a flatten or a cancel.

It is off until you set it, on Trader and up, and its daily cap starts at $500 when you turn it on. It judges only orders that add exposure, so an exit, Flatten or a cancel goes through even while it holds the account locked.

Tightening a limit takes one click; loosening one takes two. It also holds rules you draw on the chart: no long below a line, no short above it, no entry inside a zone. Size a best day against a consistency rule in the Consistency Rule Calculator.

Max position1 ct to 25 ctPer symbol, working entries included.
Per-trade risk cap5% to 100%Of the drawdown room left. An entry with no stop counts as risking the whole room.
Losing-streak lock1 to 10Losing exits in a row that lock the account.

Alerts and triggers

Alerts and triggers on price levels and drawings

Alerts and triggers on price levels and on your drawings, while PassTraq is open, plus staged orders that wait for your two clicks.

  • A price alert fires above or below a level, on a cross, or when price trades into a zone or a trend line. It is stored with your account, so it follows you to every device.
  • A trigger watches a condition on closed 1-minute bars. It can stage an order that waits for your two clicks, or trade a sim account, never a live one.
  • A rule can expire on its own, up to 30 days ahead. When one fires you get a push notification, plus an email for fired alerts, staged orders and Guardian locks: at most 20 a day, while rule emails are on.
  • Everything is checked while you have PassTraq open. Close it and nothing is watched.

Questions

Prop firm rules tracker: questions traders ask

What does a prop firm rules tracker do?

It holds your firm's rules for your plan and account size and measures each one against your account as you trade, so you see the room left before a rule ends the challenge. PassTraq tracks daily loss, trailing drawdown, the profit target, the consistency rule and minimum days.

Does a trailing drawdown reset every day?

No. It follows your highest balance and never moves down. End-of-day trailing moves the floor once a day, off your closing balance; intraday trailing moves it with your equity high, open profit included. The daily loss limit is the rule that resets each day. See the three models.

What happens when I hit the daily loss limit?

It depends on the plan. A soft limit pauses you for the rest of the day and the account stays open; a hard one fails the evaluation. Of the 7 default plans in the table with a limit, 6 are soft. Your HUD's rule card says which applies.

Is the prop firm rules tracker free?

Partly. Starter is free forever, with no card and no trial: one account, the firm presets, the rules dashboard and its alerts, the journal and CSV import. The Rules HUD, Guardian, price alerts and live broker balances start on Trader ($19/month).

Where do the balance and drawdown numbers come from?

From your broker when your account is connected on a paid plan: the floor is Rithmic's own, labelled Rithmic. Otherwise PassTraq works them out from your trades and labels them PassTraq rules or Journal. An unknown value shows a dash.

How does PassTraq track the consistency rule?

From the firm preset: its percentage and whether it counts a day or a trade. The HUD shows today's profit against the cap, and the Consistency Rule Calculator works out how large one day can be. Where a firm says what going over does, it raises the target or delays the payout; PassTraq never counts it as a breach.

Can Guardian stop me from closing a position?

No. Guardian judges only orders that add exposure. Exits, Flatten and cancels always go through, even while it holds the account locked. It is off until you set it, on Trader and up.

Do alerts work when PassTraq is closed?

No. Price alerts and triggers are checked while you have PassTraq open. When one fires you get a push notification, and an email for fired alerts and Guardian locks, at most 20 a day.

Will a rules tracker get me through a challenge?

PassTraq can't pass a challenge for you, and it guarantees nothing. It makes the rules, the room you have left and your own patterns visible, so the part of passing that is yours to control is always in front of you.
