AI trading assistant · Claude for trading
An AI trading assistant that runs on your own Claude
PassTraq's AI trading assistant is your own Claude, connected over the PassTraq MCP connector by signing in, with no API key, on Trader and up. It reads your rules, trades and chart, writes your daily brief and trade reviews, and never places, changes or cancels an order. PassTraq runs no AI model of its own.

What your AI trading assistant does in PassTraq
Finia reads your accounts, rules and trades, saves what it writes into your journal, and puts its ideas on your chart as proposals you accept or reject.
Reads your account
Balances, the room left before each rule, your journal trades and the chart you have open. Candles and volume profile come from your own broker feed, on Pro and up.
Writes your journal's words
A pre-market brief, a note on a closed trade, a weekly review, and a draft day review that waits in your trading journal until you save it.
Proposes on your chart
Levels, zones, labels or a fib, drawn as proposals: Accept keeps one, Reject removes it. It is told to take prices from your candles, never to make one up.
Drafts alerts and triggers
Into your rule list, on a line on your chart; each fires nothing until you Accept it. Your firm's limits stay with the prop firm rules tracker.
Builds and backtests strategies
On Pro and up: writes strategies, saved switched off, backtests them and walks one through a firm's rules. See strategies and automation.
Guides you through the platform
Opens pages and panels and points your chart at a symbol, in your open tab while you watch. It can teach the DOM of the futures trading platform part by part.
In PassTraq, an Ask Claude button opens Claude with the request already written.
Limits, stated in place
What it can't do: every order stays yours
Every order is a click. No keyboard shortcut places an order, and no AI can.
- It cannot place, change or cancel an order. No tool for it exists, and PassTraq's order routes refuse its tokens.
- At most it stages an order you asked for, if you ticked Stage. PassTraq asks you first; you press Review, then Send; a lock, the kill switch or Guardian refuses it.
- Strategies it writes are saved switched off. Running one takes your approval, and none runs on a live account.
- Guide mode never touches an order button, billing, credentials or an account switch.
- A Guardian rule it proposes changes nothing until you apply it.
PassTraq can't pass a challenge for you, and it guarantees nothing.
Permissions
Seven permissions, 73 tools: you decide what it may do
When you connect, PassTraq's sign-in screen lists seven permissions. Read is always on, Stage stays off unless you tick it, and the rest start on. Untick one and watch the conversation change.
You: Morning. How much room do I have on my 50K evaluation today? Then write my pre-market brief.
account_risk_statusReadget_recent_tradesReadsave_briefDraw
Claude: You have $1,000 of daily loss left and $1,620 above the drawdown floor. Yesterday's fourth trade broke your three-trade plan. Brief saved to Finia › Briefs and your dashboard: three trades at most, stop after two losses.
You: Mark yesterday’s high on my ES chart.
read_candlesRead · Pro and updraw_levelDraw
Claude: Yesterday's high on your feed was 7812.25. It is on your chart as a proposal: Accept keeps it, Reject removes it.
You: Alert me if price trades back above it.
create_price_alertRules
Claude: Drafted a price alert at 7812.25, on that line. It fires nothing until you Accept it on the chart.
You: Buy 1 MES at market.
stage_orderStage (not on this connection)
Claude: I can’t place, change or cancel an order — no tool for that exists. I can’t stage one either: Stage is off on this connection. Send it from your DOM or order ticket.
In Finia › Agent each permission is set to Auto, Ask or Never. To start, Rules, Stage and Guardian ask you before they act; Stage always asks. Change permissions or accounts later in Settings → API & MCP.
Connect
How to connect Claude to PassTraq over MCP
Copy one address, add it to Claude, then sign in to PassTraq and allow. There is no API key to create or paste, and no file to edit.
- Copy the address.
https://passtraq.com/mcp - Claude on the web or desktop: open Connectors, choose Add custom connector and paste the address.
- Claude Code: run this, then type /mcp and choose Authenticate.
claude mcp add --transport http passtraq https://passtraq.com/mcp - Sign in to PassTraq and choose the permissions, the accounts it may read, and when it expires: 7, 30 or 90 days. You have 15 minutes to answer.
- Ask. In Claude, or from an Ask Claude button in PassTraq.
Any app that supports remote MCP servers with sign-in can connect; apps other than Claude are shown as unverified on the consent screen. Claude gets a token that lasts 60 minutes and renews while the connection lives, never your password. On Starter the screen shows the plans: start free, upgrade when you want your AI in.
Privacy
Privacy: it reads only what you allow, and every call is logged
PassTraq runs no AI model of its own and sends your data to no AI provider of its own. Your Claude sees only what its tools read, from the accounts and permissions you allowed.
No model inside PassTraq
Claude runs on your own subscription. PassTraq doesn't see or pay for your conversations there.
Your agreement with Anthropic
What Claude does with what it read falls under your agreement with Anthropic; ours is the privacy policy.
Every call on the record
Each tool call is recorded with what it wanted, the decision and the result, in Finia › Agent.
It ends when you say
It expires after the term you picked. Disconnect it in Settings → API & MCP and its next call is refused.
Plans
Which plan the AI trading assistant needs
You need Trader and up to connect. Starter, the free plan, has no AI. A few tools need a higher plan, because they read data only that plan opens.

Questions
AI trading assistant: questions traders ask
What is an AI trading assistant in PassTraq?
Finia: your own Claude, connected to your PassTraq account over the MCP connector. PassTraq runs no AI model of its own; Claude thinks on your subscription, and PassTraq gives it your data and the tools to save its work.
Do I need an API key to connect Claude to PassTraq?
No. You paste one address, https://passtraq.com/mcp, and sign in to PassTraq. Sign-in is OAuth 2.1 with PKCE; there is nothing to create or paste.
Can the AI place trades for me?
No. No connected app can place, change or cancel an order: no tool for it exists, and PassTraq’s order routes refuse its tokens. With Stage ticked, it can stage an order you asked for, which only your two clicks send.
Which plan do I need?
Trader and up ($19/month) to connect. Candles, volume profile and strategies need Pro and up; code strategies, Quant. Starter has no AI. What each plan opens.
How do I add PassTraq to Claude Code?
Run claude mcp add --transport http passtraq https://passtraq.com/mcp, then type /mcp, pick passtraq and choose Authenticate. PassTraq's sign-in screen opens in your browser.
What can the AI see in my account?
Only the accounts you tick when you connect, through the permissions you allow, and every call is logged. PassTraq sends your data to no AI provider of its own; what Claude sends to Anthropic falls under your agreement with Anthropic. Privacy policy.
How long does a connection last, and how do I disconnect?
You pick 7, 30 or 90 days when you connect, and renewing needs you. Settings → API & MCP lists every connected app, with Disconnect beside each one. A disconnected app's next call is refused.
